Quantum of Solace Countdown: Dr. No

September 29, 2008 by Joe

To start off Intermission at Work’s Quantum of Solace countdown, we’ll start with the film that started it all. Dr. No, back in 1962, featuring Sean Connery as James Bond. Let’s take a look at those keys to a James Bond movie::

The Bond: Sean Connery

Babes: Ursula Andress, Eunice Gayson

Car: None that I could find

The Toys: Waither PPK, Gieger Counter, Self Destructor Bag, Rolex Submariner

Anything else: The first movie, it introduced the trademark theme entrance, and brought about a hugely successful genre of secret agent movies.

The Villian: Dr. No, obviously.

What’s it all about: Bond is sent to Jamaica to investigate the death of a British agent. This leads him to find Dr. No and his plan to disrupt American rockets. Bond then dispatches of Dr. No and his nefarious plot.

Ok, so the synopsis isn’t the greatest one, but Dr. No will forever be known as the first James Bond movie. I remember seeing this one myself for the first time with my dad so many years ago. I actually need to see it again, because reading all the stuff about it, I find that I don’t remember a lot of it. Definitely gotta get myself all caught up in Bond Mode for when this movie comes out!!!

If you haven’t seen Dr. No, you can check out the link below (to Amazon) and get it!!!

I know I’ll be checking it out. What did you think of Dr. No?
